Coimbatore Compressor Industries Association greets Vijay, hopes new govt will cut power charges

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Compressor Industries Association (COCIA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to TVK leader C Joseph Vijay for winning a significant number of seats in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly election.In a statement, the association expressed optimism that the prevailing electoral practices of distributing money to voters and mobilizing crowds for political meetings through financial incentives would come to an end in the state. It noted that such changes would strengthen democratic values and ensure fairer electoral processes in the future.COCIA highlighted several long-pending demands for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). These include reducing electricity demand charges, withdrawing what it described as unjust GST penalty actions by the state commercial taxes department, and lowering the increased GST rates on engineering job work and wet grinder manufacturing.The association emphasized that addressing these issues is crucial for the sustainability and growth of small-scale industries in Tamil Nadu.The association expressed confidence that the new govt under Vijay’s leadership would take favourable decisions to support industrial development.
